Frank Quattrone who led some of the most successful IPOs in the 1990's was sentences to 18 months imprisonment in Sep 2004 for interfering with a federal investigation about these IPO's.

Frank Quattrone used to work for Credit Suisse First Boston andwas convicted at his retrial in May 2004 of two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of witness tampering for sending an e-mail on Dec. 5, 2000, telling CSFB employees to "clean up" their files during the investigation. Frank Quattrone 's first trial ended in a hung jury on Oct. 24 2003.

He was one of the leading bankers of his generation helping companies such as Amazon, Cisco and Netscape.

Though speaking after his Sep 2004trial he responded, "I can hold my head high," he added. "I know I'm innocent." Well the jury and judge convicted him anyway.

It was widely agreed that the sentence was tough, but during the case the defendants leagal team won the defense another issue on which to base an appeal.

Though, it must be said,Frank was nothing in the league of notorious investors such as Nick Leeson and John Rusnack.
